Only thing I can say about your deejay is that you need to learn your big damage combos for the dizzy (something like j.MK, cr.LP, cr.LP, st.MP, dread kicks), there was one situation in the second match where you dizzied Ryu and then tried to hit him with j.MP, cr,HK and it didn't combo, where you could of done ALOT more. Ranging on your super could of been better, you used it once where the first hit whiffed but then the following all connected but there was one occassion where the final hit whiffed and that WILL get you hit against good opposition. Up kick combo was dropped a few times but I can't say that the up kick combo is all that important, although some times you will want to go for super after upkicks just to make sure you get good damage out of the thing.

Apart from that, it's just general stuff like trying to verticle jump over fireballs from the other side of the screen or using more cr.HK to gain ground so that you can retain charge but that will probably come with time, just try to keep it at the back of your mind.

Yaaaaaaaaaay! Vids!! I played like ass! haha, I knew I did though. Thanks for all the pointers though Robocop.

I guess I can let the cat out of the bag that I know all of the big damage combos with DeeJay.. but sadly, I suck so much at execution of them that I can only do them about 10% of the time or something. And that's in training mode.
I'm just terrible at combos, beyond basic 2-in-1s, and even practicing every day never seems to help me improve. It's like a brick wall The thing is, for a certain period I'll "get" it, and hit a particular combo for about 80% success for a short while, but then I'll play a bit more, and it just resets back to 10%.

However I was spectacularly bad with the combos at this tourney, it was more like 0%!

Incidentally, the missed stun-combo at 3:05 in question was meant to be j.HP (deep), c.HP --> HK Dread Kicks, which I am sometimes randomly reliable at. Not on that day though!
The missed cross up combo was at 1:38 and was meant to be the exact combo you state Robo, but I just rushed it and did 2xc.LP then pushed fwd + MP rather than back and MP. My main problem with that combo is that link, and also, even when I get the link, I seem to negative edge a max out off the MP all the time rather than get the dread kicks, even if I'm wailing on the kick buttons.

Then hold the MP and don't release it, and please don't wail on your buttons, they didn't do anything wrong. I was going to suggest that you should try something easier then, like the j.HP, cr.HP, dread kicks, but if you find you have consistency issues with that, then you shouldn't be moving on to harder combo yet. Get your charge right with your basic dread kick combo and then go from there.

Oddly perhaps I'm fine with down->up charge combos, as I have years of c.MP into Flash Kick practice with Guile. But of course combo into up-kicks only works on a couple of big characters (Honda.. ? Fei Long maybe?) if they are crouching and they are pretty much characters you shouldn't be doing crossups on especially anyway. DeeJay's all just seem trickier for me to do, but I am now MUCH better with him overall than Guile.

You know what though.. I never thought of not releasing the MP to avoid the negative edge! :O I am going to have to try and see if I can practice that. I bet my muscle memory will take years to re-train it tho

However even having some explain about how I mess up combos really helps, with what I said just earlier it suddenly hit me.. I am not moving the stick to straight back when I hit the s.MP in that earlier combo. Working on that part of it tonight and I was getting a lot better. Of course once I got in some real matches against good players, it wasn't usable anyway, since you just don't land a full cross-up combo ever really. It's all about the mixups, delays and throws rather than huge combo strings.. s'why I love HDR! I find if they block a crossup you often don't WANT to do the full cross-up string with DeeJay anyway as it pushes them out of range of a 2nd cross up j.MK - this is especially important against Ryu, Guile & mirror match I've found.

I did get stun combo opportunities though in 'live matches', and I duly missed every opportunity! :-/ I think I might try j.HP, s.MP, Dread Kicks because that seems easier and forces me to think about holding the stick straight back rather than down/back. A lot of it is bad habits & only getting a decent joystick the last couple of years, but I'm still adjusting to it I find.

Thanks again!

Oh and I don't really wail.. that was just a fun Americanism for lols.

Yup, that's the thing, just remember to go to straight back instead of down back, it means you start charging a tiny bit sooner but it can mean the difference between hitting the combo and getting HK to come out by accident. If you really want to test your charging ability try to get this combo down with Blanka
j.HP, cr.MK, HP Roll
Because Blanka has a quicker jump speed he has less time to charge the roll then any other charge character, you must go to back first and then down back for the cr.MK. If you can get that combo consistently then you can probably do any charge combos (minus link ones )

off a jump yeah, sorry, quite right, I meant go straight back instead of doing a diagonal motion shaves time off when you can start charging.
