Well… I turned on my PS3, and it seems like this bug issue has blown over. Now we can all get back to some happy long awaited gaming. Thanks to the Neo Empire community for keeping me company through these troubled times.
Now turn those machines on and enjoy….Your PS3’s are free (I think)

A large majority of people that own older PS3 consoles are unable to log onto the PSN network or play certain games. Apparently its because of some “calendar bug” that came into effect when we hit March 1st 2010.
Nobody knows how many games are affected by this bug, but “King of Fighters 12″ and “BlazBlue” have been hit and I’m very unhappy. ![]()
Joy for all of you “Street Fighter 4″ players as this game is not affected.
New slim-line PS3’s seem to be unaffected by this bug. Hopefully Sony technical guys are on this round the clock and can come up with a solution very quick. A Sony representative had this to say earlier:
“Know that we have narrowed down the issue and have engineers working to restore service even as you read this. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you, and genuinely appreciate your patience while we work to resolve this.”
Sony is reporting all developments via its Twitter feed.

It all started when KOF 12 producer Masaaki Kukino was interviewed at the TGS 2009 show and dropped hints about a new game in development. He also went on to talk about how he’d like to expand on KOF 12 with new characters and systems.
This was obviously music to the ears of many since most people agreed that KOF 12 lacked in both characters and features.
King of Fighters 13 rumours have been flying around the internet this past week. We thought KOF 13 might make a special showing at the AOU show in Japan this year which took place on the 19th and 20th Feb. It didn’t happen.
Rumours didn’t stop there however. Internet gossip still stood by the fact that the game would be shown very soon, and that April 2010 (one year after KOF 12) would be KOF 13’s official arcade release date in Japan.
The official Japanese magazine ARCADIA website (www.arcadiamagazine.com) then went on to post up a picture of Terry Bogard for the 20th year Neo Geo anniversary.

Now we hear news, that a Location test for King of Fighters 13 will be happening on March 25th 2010 in Akihabara Japan and this news has also come from ARCADIA magazine. SOURCE….. SNK-PLAYMORE official website
So it looks like KOF 13 is coming!!!! Bring it on.
A huge thanks goes out to our resident Neo Empire KOF guy Kusogaki for bringing this KOF goodness to our attention.
SLIGHT EDIT: (Thanks to Kusogaki again)
It looks like SNK Playmore have added news of KOF 13 to their website to. SO ITS OFFICIAL.

Publisher Zen United and distributor PQube are pleased to announce a special Limited Edition of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger. The Limited Edition, presented in a specially branded box, is now available on PS3 and Xbox 360 for pre-order for a limited period at the same price as the standard version of the game.
BlazBlue is the first fighting game whose characters and art have been originally designed for high definition next-gen consoles. The design process of the characters, story images and fighting system moves have taken more than 18 months to perfect. The design team at Arc System Works have contributed a huge number of original drawings, sketches and concept work. The 100 page art book celebrates their labours and is a must for Japanese anime fans.
The bonus DVD has 2 hours of detailed tutorial guides covering the fighting systems, special moves and individual character strategies. Fighting fans will find new and unexpected ideas for the best combos to employ and those new to fighting games will find the step by step introductions a great way to get into the game.
“We anticipate a rapid sell through of this strong offer” commented Rob Noble Marketing Manager at PQube, “especially amongst those looking for great value when choosing their premium games”.
The content of the Limited Edition has been created alongside the gaming community through ideas, previews and feedback. And their responses to the final choices have been overwhelmingly positive.
Tomo Ohno, Managing Director of Zen United added “It is great to see our labour of love and passions summarised into a book and DVD for European users. Both the Tutorial DVD and Art book present what we believe as important elements to bring the game alive and we hope people enjoy them”.
